Compass Jet is committed to providing you with information on our services within a secure and confidential on-line environment. The Privacy Act 1988 (Cth) (Privacy Act) and the Australian Privacy Principles (APPs) govern the way in which we must manage your personal information and this policy sets out how we collect, use, disclose and otherwise manage personal information about you.
What information we collect from you
- your name;
- your contact details (including your phone number, address and email address);
- Payment detail such as credit or debit card number and expiry date;
- details about any incidents that you are either involved in or that you witness, in connection with your flight or any of our products or services
- if you access or use our website (Site), the date and time of your visit, the pages viewed, and information downloaded
Purpose of collection
The personal information that we collect and hold about you, depends on your interaction with us. Generally, we will collect, use and hold your personal information if it is reasonably necessary for or directly related to the performance of our functions and activities and for:
- the purpose of enabling Compass Jet to provide products and services to you or someone you know in accordance with your requests or reasonable expectations;
- providing you with information about other products or services that we, or our related entities and other organisations that we have affiliations with, offer that may be of interest to you;
- facilitating our internal business operations, including the fulfilment of any legal requirements;
any other purpose required by or to the extent permitted by law.
Method of collection
We mainly collect information directly from you, for example, when you use our website or social media, you call or write to us, we interact with you in person, such as when you use our products and services or participate in promotions.

Your sensitive information

- provide and administer our travel products and services, to verify your identity, to contact you about your orders and bookings and travel, freight and other arrangements, to process payments, for quality assurance and training purposes, such as training our staff, testing our systems, and managing our suppliers.;
- our related entities and other organisations with whom we have affiliations so that those organisations may provide you with information about services and various promotions.
You should note that information we collect from you may also be disclosed to third parties if that disclosure is required by or to the extent permitted by law.
Security of your information
Compass Jet takes reasonable steps to preserve the security of personal information it collects via the Site. Compass Jet cannot ensure or warrant the security of any information you transmit to us or receive from our online products or services and you do so at your own risk. Once we receive your transmission, we take reasonable steps to preserve the security of information on our own system and protect it from interference, misuse, loss, unauthorised access, modification or disclosure, including electronic and physical security measures.
We also have procedures in place to deal with any suspected data security breach. We will notify you and any applicable regulator of a suspected data security breach where We are legally required to do so.
From time to time the Site may contain links to other web-sites, and Compass Jet is not responsible for the privacy practices or the content of these web sites and linked web sites are not subject to our privacy policies and procedures.
If you access our website, we may collect additional personal information about you in the form of your IP address and domain name.
Acceptance and changes to privacy statements
Access and updating of information
If you would like to request access to, or correction of, your personal information that we hold, please contact us using the details in the section titled “Contact”.
To the extent required by applicable law, we will provide you with access to the information we hold about you, including for the purpose of correcting or updating that information, within a reasonable timeframe (or any time frame stipulated by the laws that apply to your request). If we are permitted to withhold some of your personal information and we choose to do so, we will advise you when responding to your request. Where permitted by law, we may recover from you our reasonable costs of supplying you with access to this information. However, we will not charge you for the making of the request or to correct or update your personal information
Spam is a generic term used to describe electronic ‘junk mail’- unwanted messages sent to a person’s email account or mobile phone. In Australia, spam is defined as ‘unsolicited commercial electronic messages’.

‘Electronic messaging’ covers emails, instant messaging, SMS and other mobile phone messaging, but not cover normal voice-to-voice communication by telephone.
Compass Jet complies with the provisions of the Spam Act when sending commercial electronic messages.
Equally importantly, Compass Jet makes sure that our practices are in accordance with the Australian Privacy Principles in all activities where they deal with personal information.
