Our crew are highly experienced and come from corporate and airline operations. All Compass Jet flight pilots have over 3000hrs total with Instrument Flight Rules current qualifications. (Captains have in excess of 5000hrs and 500 jet hours). All of our cabin crew have over 3 years operating experience and are dedicated to giving superior client service.
CHIEF EXECUTIVE OFFICER – GEORGE HILL ESM
George is a dedicated and highly motivated Senior Operations Executive who has worked in a variety of environments enabling a wide set of skills to be developed to support any number of professional settings. He is an effective and respected leader who strategises operational frameworks to integrate and align with company vision and senior management objectives fostering enhanced staff performance and achieving best practise to maximise organisational performance and sustainability. Possessing a focus on meeting internal and external customer expectations in addition to proactive communication and diligence ensures a proven reputation for delivering superior results. George brings experience as the CASA Accountable officer for the Westpac Lifesaver Helicopter Rescue Service (Qld)
CHIEF PILOT – CAPTAIN JOHN SHEPPARD
John has over 17,000hrs of flight time gained in Airline, charter and flight instructor operations and has over 30 years of experience in the aviation sector. Having been the Chief Pilot of three operations including a High Capacity RPT operation John has extensive exposure to compliance and quality requirements to ensure that Compass Jet is held in high regard within the Aviation Industry. John has extensive training experience. He holds low level operation and search and rescue credentials.
HEAD OF AIRWORTHINESS AND MAINTENANCE – BARRY MAUNDER
Barry Maunder is very well regarded. He has been in Aviation all his working life, he has a good track record of leadership, with excellent results in improving overall performance, proven broad-based strengths and accomplishments in Aviation. Barry Maunder is a ISO-9000 2001 qualified auditor, a IOSA auditor, is considered having a very sound engineering background and a very good understanding of the regulations, over recent times Mr Barry Maunder has conducted IOSA audits and has a very good understanding of the many airline functions, liaising with auditors and airline customers to review scope of work for completeness and accuracy and prepare reports on audit scope, finding and conclusions. Barry has demonstrable leadership and interpersonal skills appropriate to the position, has been previously a CASA Form 4 Post-holder.
SAFETY AND QUALITY MANAGER – ADRIAN PLATH
Adrian brings with him a wealth of aviation experience gained over many years working within both military and commercial operations.
Adrian has a background in Aircraft Maintenance Engineering – Avionics, training and courseware design, and in the past 10 years has focused primarily on compliance, safety and quality assurance.
Adrian has previously overseen the compliance requirements of a leading aviation training organisation ensuring the effective operation of the quality management system and maintaining compliance with approved Australian and International regulatory authorities. Adrian has held CASA Form 4 post position as Quality and Safety Manager within a regular passenger transport airline, responsible for Part 42 compliance, conducting safety investigations for accidents and incidences reported through Safety Management Systems, risk assessments, providing corrective and preventive solutions and system improvements.
Adrian holds Audit qualifications and has extensive experience in Part 42, Part 66, Part 145, Part 147 and ISO 9001 systems.
CABIN SERVICES MANAGER – MIHO DOCHERTY
Miho is a highly qualified and accomplished Senior Cabin Crew member. Miho’s high standards are a product of her wealth of qualifications earned over 14 years in the airline industry which includes airlines like Thai Airways International. Miho has served with many major airlines and has previously held not only Training but also Checking qualifications.
Miho is also well regarded by crew and clients alike. Miho has previously been employed by Virgin Australia in their VIP Club catering to Australia’s high level Chief Executives due to her high level of service. Miho has also a teaching background and is a high quality translator which we hold in high regard. Miho has excellent communication and computer skills is a competent mentor and is held in high regard by her peers.
Miho holds a Bachelor of Arts Degree English & Literature Nihon University Tokyo Japan and an International Certificate of Japanese Teacher University of Cambridge UK.
FINANCE AND HUMAN RESOURCES MANAGER – ANTHONY SHIELD
Anthony Shield comes to Compass Jet with an extensive and diversified management career in banking and finance, and has garnered a sound understanding in finance assessment, cashflow and analysis. He was General Manager of a non bank lender, and has been responsible for Human Resources management in many companies he has worked at.
He is community minded and was the honorary treasurer of a Surf Life Saving, running the day to day operations of their licensed Supporter’s Club and implementing strategies, compliance systems and financial discipline.
Anthony was a Patrol Medic in the Army Reserve, training in combat medicine, and is currently an Officer of Australian Air Force Cadets responsible for the mentoring of young men and women who are learning to be pilots with a view of joining the Australian Defence Force or civilian aviation.
He has strong leadership and management disciplines with a proven record in financial management.
